Biography of John W. Rittinghouse, Ph.D., CISM PMO



   

 

Dr. Rittinghouse is co-founder of Hypersecurity LLC, a security software company located in Houston, TX.  He serves as an independent security consultant, assisting commercial and federal clients like Cable and Wireless, the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Commerce, KSR, DataWatch International, etc. in determining risk and establishing policies for mitigation of potential threats.  Dr. Rittinghouse has served as Chair of both the Cybersecurity Group and the Network Computing Technologies Group with the Network Reliability and Interoperability Council for the Federal Communications Commission and currently sits on several corporate boards. He has been responsible for security professional service operations in the commercial sector for several large organizations where he created a standardized program management operations for security consultants to work with clientssuch as Visa, Frost Bank, Helio, Nortel, Microsoft, Ask.com, and many others.

 

At Exodus Communications, he was responsible for all Exodus IT operations in 45 countries with 62 data centers and more than 80,000 servers.  Dr. Rittinghouse managed several international software development groups (in Europe, Thailand, India, and China) and was responsible for creating a Program Management Office where he instituted standardized software project management methodologies. He was responsible for all telecommunications and network operations, sales support facilities, and internal support for approximately 4,500 employees.

 

At eLoyalty as a Senior Principal, he aided Allstate Insurance Company’s Teleservices Division, and led a team that developed initial business requirements for a new desktop application in the After Hours Call Centers serving 15,000+ Allstate agents.  He conducted a Joint Applications and Requirements Design effort that elicited further key business requirements from a nationally selected team of participants.  For AIG Insurance Company’s Warranty Products Division, Dr. Rittinghouse served as Chief Technical Architect and assisted in development of business requirements and detailed designs for implementation in a new call center. 

For Bowne and Co. Global Solutions and Software Solutions Divisions, he was the Chief Technology Officer. He was responsible for all technology activities supporting 26 offices in 19 countries and completed an integration of five acquisitions into single operation in 18 months. Dr. Rittinghouse reengineered localization business processes and created an Intranet-based workflow management system for a production staff of 900.  He also integrated this workflow system with a corporate ERP (Peoplesoft) implementation. He established network and security policies and streamlined all networking operations. During this time, he delivered two patents to Bowne and Co.

For Compaq Computer Corp., as a senior manager for Knowledge Technologies, he was responsible for the worldwide knowledge management organization in Compaq Customer Service. He was tasked to develop strategic direction/integration of new Internet/Intranet technologies in worldwide call center/customer support environment and had program management responsibility for development of an international knowledge management organization using latest web technologies to leverage the business potential of Internet.  As the program manager for Internet Development, he had responsibility for advanced revision control software to support Systems Division server products. He managed software deliverables across four product divisions and established processes for development of content including all localization and globalization issues for systems server, desktop, and portable computer software related to product manufacturing in European and Asian markets.
